Getting
to know EFI |
|
EFI is located in Georgia (just north of
Columbus) and provides services throughout the World. We are dedicated
to providing superior recovery and examination services using vetted forensic
practices. EFI was founded on more than 10 years of education and
experience in intelligence operations, technical exploitation,
investigations, security and antiterrorism program development and
management, and telecommunications operations supporting both the federal
government and private corporations. Due to the nature of
our business, EFI maintains an extremely high standard of professionalism and
ethics. All examinations of electronic media are conducted in
accordance with the professional standards recognized by the International Society of Forensic Computer Examiners® and in accordance with The
Association of Trial Lawyers of America suggested investigation practices, in that: |
|
|
1) Real, physical evidence
will be legally obtained 2) Real, physical evidence
will be properly stored and preserved 3) Information will be
accurately and completely recorded 4) All collected evidence
will relate to the scope of the case as mandated by court documents or
client’s requests At EFI, we believe one of our more important attributes is recognizing
that electronic forensic science is more than just extracting information
through automated processes and therefore we place an extraordinary amount of
focus on content analysis. This is the process we believe separates
computer forensics from computer examination. Anyone with the knowledge
to turn-on a computer and click a mouse could probably examine computer media
but the forensics in this process lies in one’s ability to piece unique file
attributes together, essentially giving the file its own electronic
fingerprint, while not contaminating the original media. To give a
basic example – 1) locate a file of interest, 2) analysis it for potential
relevance to the case, 3) extract the file metadata, 4) analyze the metadata,
5) determine the time of creation, 6) determine the time of last
modification, and 7) link this data to a specific creator (LoginID) of the file. This detailed analytical
process further assists our efforts in developing comprehensive reports that
provide our clients a clear picture concerning our forensic discoveries,
making case presentation rather painless.
In dealing with EFI, you can expect to experience dedication to our
clients, integrity to our profession, absolute confidentiality protection,
thoroughness* in examination, accuracy with analysis, clarity in reporting,
and timeliness** of service. * Court orders may limit our
ability to be as thorough as we often desire. ** The measure of
timeliness is dependent on the scope of the case. We will always
provide all requested services in a timely manner but this process sometimes
takes days or even weeks to complete. |
